Das Fraunhofer IPA – eines der größten Institute der Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft – wurde 1959 gegründet und beschäftigt annähernd 1200 Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter. Organisatorische und technologische Aufgabenstellungen aus der Produktion machen unsere Forschungs- und Entwicklungsschwerpunkte aus. Methoden, Komponenten und Geräte bis hin zu kompletten Maschinen und Anlagen werden von uns entwickelt, erprobt und exemplarisch eingesetzt. Die 19 Fachabteilungen des Fraunhofer IPA decken den gesamten Bereich der Produktionstechnik ab. Sie werden koordiniert durch sechs Geschäftsfelder und arbeiten interdisziplinär mit Industrieunternehmen der Branchen Automotive, Maschinen- und Anlagenbau, Elektronik und Mikrosystemtechnik, Energie, Medizin- und Biotechnik sowie Prozessindustrie zusammen.
