Joachim has a holistic knowledge in garment manufacturing, tech and innovation. Starting as a tailor in bespoke couture, he became managing director of the biggest HUGO BOSS Group factory (3800 employees) in 2015. Transferring the whole organization into a flexible and reactive Smart Factory with implementation of industry 4.0 measures is his key goal – and preparing for a highly volatile, demanding and impatient market means that he is in the forefront of innovation excellence. He believes in agile project execution and flat hierarchies to cope with today’s pace of doing business.

As part of its strategy focusing on better responding to highly dynamic customer demands, the HUGO BOSS Izmir facility is the Group’s largest factory with nearly 3,800 employees, annual production of up to 900,000 suits, two million shirts, and 550,000 pieces of women’s apparel since its establishment in 1999. Today, the company developed the Industry 4.0 “smart factory” concept at the center of its industrial transformation.
