Less Details

Truly transformed Smart Factories with connected people, assets and processes are the rare exception, when looking at the manufacturing landscape. Albeit the technologies to turn Industry 3.0 factories into Industry 4.0 Smart Factories have been established for quite some time now, we are struggling to leverage the potential of these technologies. There are two main reasons for that. Applications and infrastructure are not built to scale and the necessary transformation process is built around technology not people.

This presentation will present a Smart Factory vision, based on real life use cases, and the necessary steps to bring such a vision to life. In this Session you learn,

  • Why the Unified Namespace is an enabler for Digital Transformation – beyond the Shop Floor
  • The hard truth, why Smart Factory initiatives fail
  • How to set up your organization for successful Digital Transformation

Speaker

Henning Heine

Lead Smart Factory Expert, MaibornWolff GmbH

Henning Heine has a background as mechanical engineer and worked more than 7 years in the manufacturing industry, right on the shop floor, bridging the IT/OT gap. He developed custom software for Smart Factory applications and connected machines and processes through the automation stack from PLC to ERP and Cloud. While driving Smart Factory initiatives he focusses on the close exchange with the users on the shop floor, to incorporate their input in new applications and increase the acceptance of new tools. Henning is specialized in the use of Low-Code Tools in production and their integration in the overall IIoT-Infrastructure. At MaibornWolff GmbH he supports customers on their Digital Transformation Journey building their Smart Factories.
